Interface on android 2.1, htc hero, standard web browser looks exactly like on iphone but is too slow to be usable.

doesn't work on neither OperaMobile 10 Emulator/Linux nor OperaMini 5.1.21126/Android 2.1. My guess, it's a JavaScript version issue.

We !urgently! require the mobile phone web gui like we have it in nagios. We want to switchover from nagios to icinga but this is an urgent issue - it is more important as the new icinga interface is full of javascript crap and no suitable for small /mobile devices most of us network admins use day by day.

Im new to icinga and not shure how far the icinga core is far from nagios - may be i will find the time to "port" the "statuswml.cgi" to icinga (may be someone like to help me here?)...

We strongly hope that the "classic" interface would not gone by time even if the new one offers really nice improvements which we use on some devices...

Monitoring software must work in the first place - offering a nice GUI is more secondly to the most of us. Most concurring open source (and commercial) monitoring solutions mainly focus on a "nice GUI" and not on functionality and usability on a open range of client platforms.

I think it should be generic mobile interface. It will be great to have some ajax version for Android, iPhone and other devices with modern browsers and non-ajax for older mobiles.

based on the api and extracting all needed information, this should be possible for several versions - ultralite, lite, micro, basic, enhanced, full - or something like that. it's on my todo list after icinga web get's stable.
